Brasfield & Gorrie is seeking a proven business development professional to lead business development initiatives for Brasfield & Gorrie’s Industrial Market Sector. Subsets of this sector may include Infrastructure, Manufacturing, Power Generation, Food & Beverage, Cold Storage, etc. This position will work closely with the regional presidents and division managers to develop and establish targeted relationships and strategies that benefit Brasfield & Gorrie.
Responsibilities and Essential Duties include the following (other duties may be assigned):
- Lead business development initiatives for Regions 1 (Atlanta) and 5 (Birmingham) of Brasfield & Gorrie
- Develop, maintain, and execute strategic division, client, and market sector action plans
- Build and maintain strong relationships with developers, owners, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors
- Provide thought-leadership in business pursuits and maintain up-to-date knowledge of current activities
- Track all pursuit and relationship management information through Brasfield & Gorrie’s centralized CRM system, ensuring all activity is up-to-date and accurate
- Identify trendsetter ideas by researching the construction industry, continually studying related publications, announcements, and events
- Identify and analyze competition and recommend teaming strategy
- Procure, analyze, and respond to RFQ’s / RFP’s for project pursuits (working alongside the Division Managers)
- Craft the best pursuit strategy and lead team players from start to finish
- Locate or propose potential business opportunities by contacting potential partners as well as researching internet and public-released relevant news leads
- Screen potential business deals by analyzing market strategies, deal requirements, financials, etc.
- Interacting with the marketing department on thoughtful responses to RFQs, RFPs, and other pursuit qualifications
- Assist management team in closing new business deals
- Demonstrate posture of continual learning by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations
- Attend industry events and other meetings to stay abreast of market conditions, competition, and establish relationships with existing clients and prospects
- Provide ongoing progress updates on new business development activities and other key indicators to management team
- Participate in regular calls with senior leadership team
- Participate in regional business development meetings
