Responsibilities

Brasfield & Gorrie, a rapidly growing, $5bn+ general contractor with 13 offices located across the Southeast and Texas, is seeking a Financial Analyst to join its Finance team in its Birmingham, Alabama office. The Financial Analyst will support the team in (i) performing financial modeling and forecasting, (ii) preparing financial packages to support business performance monitoring and analysis, and (iii) leading initiatives to develop, design, and manage reports and dashboards using business intelligence tools. Activities will vary widely from day-to-day and the environment will be fast-paced. The ideal candidate will be detail oriented with a high financial acumen and will operate with a heart of service, a positive attitude, and a strong work ethic.

 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Perform financial analyses and financial modeling
  • Track key performance indicators through reporting and dashboards
  • Assist with corporate forecasting and budgeting
  • Prepare routine financial packages and reports to support management in monitoring business performance and analyzing trends and drivers
  • Lead initiatives to develop, design, and manage reports and dashboards using various business intelligence tools
  • Research, profile, and evaluate strategic areas for growth, investment opportunities, industries, subsectors, and geographic markets
  • Collect, analyze, and summarize peer performance information to create and maintain benchmarking analysis
  • Review and verify client credit capacity and project financing plans
  • Serve as an analytical resource, aiding in decision support on a variety of ad-hoc requests
  • Maintain a collaborative relationship with colleagues and project teams
  • Demonstrate superior customer service to both internal and external groups

Education - Skills - Knowledge - Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related field required
  • 1-2 years of relevant work experience preferred
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical and financial modeling skills
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to make quick, sound decisions
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Strategic thinker
  • Ability to influence and persuade others
  • Results–oriented and champion of change
  • Technology skills: proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint necessary; experience with enterprise resource planning and data analytical systems a plus
  • Understanding of basic accounting principles and familiarity with financial statements
  • Ability to format and present data and key analytical findings in a clear, concise and accurate form
  • Strong interpersonal skills (extensive interaction with various internal teams and external professional service providers)
  • Team oriented, self-motivated, and proactive
