Responsibilities

Brasfield & Gorrie, a recognized leader in the construction industry, has an exciting opportunity available for an Accounting Administrative Assistant in Birmingham, Alabama.

 

Responsibilities and Essential Duties include the following (other duties may be assigned):

  • Serve as department receptionist, greeting and escorting visitors in a professional, friendly, and hospitable manner
  • Coordinate and oversee the accounting department calendar (i.e. team meetings, department retreats, lunches, volunteer activities, etc.)
  • Serve on the Accounting social committee to plan events for department
  • Support accounting managers with administrative needs (i.e. prepare expense reports and coordinate meetings)
  • Order and maintain supplies for department
  • Serve as liaison for all building maintenance needs
  • Assist Corporate Accounting, Project Accounting, and Treasury teams with ad hoc accounting requests
  • Assist with writing and formatting documents and presentations
  • Maintain the budget for meals & entertainment, supplies, sponsorships, etc.

Education - Skills - Knowledge - Qualifications & Experience

  • College degree preferred; High school diploma required
  • Accounting, Finance, Banking, or Business Administration experience preferred
  • Excellent working knowledge of Outlook, Excel, and other Microsoft Office programs
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task and be organized
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Team player and customer-service oriented mindset
  • Willingness to learn and work in new technologies
  • Ability to handle sensitive/confidential information
  • Trustworthy and professional
