Responsibilities

Brasfield & Gorrie, a recognized leader in the construction industry, has an exciting opportunity for a Bilingual Field Recruiter. 

 

Responsibilities and Essential Duties include the following (other duties may be assigned):

  • Work with Senior Field Management and General Superintendents to determine mid-range to long-range hiring needs
  • Maintain pipeline of qualified candidates to fill short term hiring needs
  • Create network of industry contacts (ABC, AGC, LinkedIn, etc.) for sourcing skilled tradesmen to foremen positions­­­­­
  • Post open positions on Brasfield & Gorrie website and other recruiting sites
  • Screen applicants for recommendations to the hiring managers
  • Maintain tracking system and reports of hiring needs and candidates’ status
  • Network in new geographic areas to identify candidates for upcoming projects
  • Organize and lead hiring fairs for large self-perform projects
  • Strengthen relationships with high school and career tech programs to source and recruit skilled trade candidates
  • Manage field operations high school intern program
  • Partner with Field Training team to help identify potential training needs during the hiring process
  • (e.g. welding tests, tower crane certification, etc.)
  • Resource Management: Partner with field supervision for future job assignment
  • Create and maintain recruiting status reports for regular General Superintendent meetings and HR Department meetings
  • Serve as bilingual resource to connect field employees with company resources

 

Education - Skills - Knowledge - Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree is required 
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience recruiting/hiring trades-level positions, preferably in the construction industry
  • Experience working in Applicant Tracking System
  • Technical experience in recruiting, staffing and retention
  • Knowledge of recruiting best practices and employment laws preferable
  • Passion for providing service and helping teams meets their hiring needs
  • Team player with strong people skills that creates a “can do” atmosphere and works well with internal and external customers
  • Proven self-starter who can enter unfamiliar territory (both inside the company and outside), building confidence among others
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Action-oriented with excellent organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Spanish preferred
  • Bilingual, able to read, write, and speak Spanish strongly proficiently
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office products, social media, HR systems, etc.)
  • Willingness to travel as needed (some overnight travel may be required)
