Brasfield & Gorrie, a recognized leader in the construction industry, has an exciting opportunity available for a Systems Administrator. The Systems Administrator will be a member of the Information Technology (IT) team, and located at the company headquarters office in Birmingham, AL.



Responsibilities and Essential Duties include the following (other duties may be assigned):

  • Monitor and maintain software, applications, and IT hardware solutions and systems.
  • Create documentation of systems, services, and processes and keep documentation current.
  • Monitor and maintain servers and applications in a virtual and cloud environment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in a virtualized environment.
  • Monitor and ensure the security of IT systems.
  • Pursue knowledge of emerging technologies and advancements.
  • Provide support for escalated technical issues.
  • Train and mentor Systems Technicians and other IT support personnel.

Education - Skills - Knowledge - Qualifications & Experience


  • Bachelor’s degree in a computer or security related field
  • Industry certification preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft and Azure technologies and software
  • Experience with Citrix or other application delivery technologies
  • Experience supporting secure systems and application architectures
  • Experience working with scripting languages preferred (PowerShell, Python, etc.)
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to use time productively, maximize efficiency, and meet challenging work goals
  • Ability to work in a strong collaborative atmosphere
  • Ability to work well as a part of a team and independently
  • Ability to take on additional responsibilities as needed
