Brasfield & Gorrie, a recognized leader in the construction industry, has an exciting opportunity available for a Senior Business Intelligence Analyst in the Information Technology department.  The position is located in the corporate office located in Birmingham, AL. The Senior Business Intelligence Analyst will help develop business processes that allow for predictive analytics software (such as PowerBI, Business Objects, BI Publisher) and assists Brasfield & Gorrie’s senior leadership to make more informed decisions. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, works well in a team, well versed in a variety of technologies with experience working with both structured and unstructured data.


Responsibilities and Essential Duties include the following (other duties may be assigned):

  • Develop business understanding of complex and varying data sources
  • Develop and execute implementation plans to store and organize data in order to produce reports providing key insights into financial performance, safety, operational efficiency, project management efficiency
  • Work directly with Management and the IT Development Team members to support reporting needs
  • Evaluate BI Software to ensure Brasfield & Gorrie is keeping up with industry standards
  • Create or assist others in building visual dashboards and reporting solutions that provide meaningful insight to operational results
  • Conduct regular ad hoc report creation and analyses for project teams and senior management
  • Build visualization reports
  • Support other BI users within the organization

Education - Skills - Knowledge - Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5 years’ relevant experience with advanced analytical/problem solving and data mining
  • Experience with BI tools
  • Experience writing SQL Queries
  • General knowledge of data warehouse structure
  • General knowledge of diverse technologies and new and current BI tools
  • General knowledge of IT concepts, strategies and methodologies
  • Effective communication skills for writing reports and giving presentations
