Responsibilities

The Junior Application Developer will be part of an agile development team building line of business and enterprise software systems. The team focuses on the Microsoft .NET development stack and related technologies (IIS, C#, SQL, HTML, and JavaScript). The Junior Application Developer will assist in all areas of the development process including User Interface, web development, API development, database, unit testing, QAQC, acceptance testing, and end user feedback.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Development

  • Work and communicate effectively in a collaborative team environment
  • Assist in collecting and documenting end user requirements
  • Develop user stories and work breakdowns for later development
  • Design\Develop\Unit Test application code
  • Participate in peer review and collaborative discussions on design and related code
  • Conduct research on emerging application development software products, languages, and standards in support of procurement and development efforts

Operational Management

  • Work with network administrators, systems analysts, and software engineers to assist in resolving problems with software products or company software systems
  • Write programming scripts to enhance the functionality and/or performance of company applications as necessary
  • Develop and maintain user documentation as needed
  • Train end users to operate new or modified programs
  • Install software products as needed

Education - Skills - Knowledge - Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in the field of Computer Science, Information Systems, or Software Engineering
  • 2-4 years of related experience 
  • Certifications in Microsoft technologies, and\or Developer certifications is a plus

Knowledge & Experience

  • Should understand object-oriented programing concepts and languages
  • Should have familiarity with Web design and development languages (HTML,JavaScript,CSS)
  • Should understand relational database design and querying concepts
  • Bootstrap and Angular web technologies knowledge is a plus
  • An understanding of Visual Studio IDE and Visual Studio Source Control is preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft .NET (C#) development languages is preferred
  • Knowledge of agile development methodologies is preferred
  • Knowledge of testing \unit testing theory is a plus

Work Conditions

  • Night and weekend hours may be required to meet project deadlines
  • Sitting for extended periods of time
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other devices
  • Able to lift computer drives, monitors, and other peripherals
