    Brasfield & Gorrie, a recognized leader in the construction industry, has an exciting opportunity available for a Business Analyst in our Corporate Treasury Department in Birmingham, Alabama.


    Responsibilities and Essential Duties include the following (other duties may be assigned):

    • Identify and recommend best practices for improvements in various Treasury functions
    • Document procedures
    • Retrieve reports from bank software for multiple companies                                                                    
    • Analyze previous day cash balance variances                
    • Complete Investments/Redemptions (time sensitive with multiple deadlines)                                            
    • Organize source documents for Daily Banking Transactions                                
    • Update and maintain various bank and investment-related spreadsheets
    • Retrieve lockbox information                                                                                         
    • Initiate ACH/Wires/Bank transfers requested
    • Upload, post and scan daily banking transactions                       
    • Retrieve positive pay exception reports from bank and communicate exceptions /input decisions              
    • Initiate stop pays - (verify check not cleared before issuing stop, and determine most cost-effective method per incident)                                                                                                                       
    • Research disputes/fraud
    • Provide canceled check copies upon request
    • Research receipt of funds current and previous day upon request
    • Coordinate set up of cash receipt options upon request for special events
    • Handle Remote Deposit Capture (RDC) of checks
    • Serve as contact for remote office questions regarding RDC
    • Write up of deposits for checks that cannot be handled in RDC
    • Balance RDC and all other cash receipts from cash receipts payment application software to actual bank activity             
    • Conduct bank correspondence, administration, and research on various bank accounts including short term investments, escrow accounts, letters of credit, etc.                                                                               
    • Retrieve and organize monthly bank and investment statements and follow up on any missing statements
    • Cross training to back up other Treasury personnel
    • Ability to work on company holidays that are not bank holidays               

    Education - Skills - Knowledge - Qualifications & Experience


    • Bachelor’s degree and minimum of 3 years of experience in an office environment in accounting, banking or finance department is strongly preferred
    • Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) and experience with a Treasury Management system preferred
    • Excellent working knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft Office programs
    • Ability to work well with numbers and general understanding of accounting concepts
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Initiative, discretion, tact, and adaptability to manage multiple tasks with time sensitive, competing deadlines
    • Attention to detail and precision
