    Brasfield & Gorrie, a recognized leader in the construction industry, has an exciting opportunity available for a Corporate Accounting Assistant in Birmingham, Alabama.


    Responsibilities and Essential Duties include the following (other duties may be assigned):

    • Assist Treasury, Project Accounting, and Corporate Accounting teams
    • Treasury responsibilities may include:
      • Complete remote deposit capture of checks
      • Daily set up of ACH, wire, bank transfers and investment redemptions
      • Upload and post finalized daily banking transactions
      • Serve as back up for daily cash management administration
      • Assist with research on Positive Pay exceptions, cleared check questions, disputes and stop payments
    • Corporate / Project Accounting responsibilities may include:
      • Assist in certain general ledger and company credit care (p-card) reconciliations
      • Assist in cash account reconciliations
      • Assist in management of Company lease agreements
      • Assist in job closeout process
      • Assist in warranty closeout process
    • Coordinate food and schedule for monthly, quarterly and annual Accounting Department meetings
    • Serve on the Accounting Department social committee to plan events for department
    • Support accounting managers with administrative needs
    • Distribute department mail
    • Serve as department receptionist, greeting and escorting visitors
    • Coordinate meetings and book conference rooms
    • Order and maintain supplies for department
    • Scan, print, file for the department
    • Assist with writing and formatting documents and presentations

    Education - Skills - Knowledge - Qualifications & Experience

    • College degree preferred; High school diploma required
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in an accounting, banking or finance department experience is strongly preferred
    • Excellent working knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft Office programs
    • Ability to work accurately with numbers
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Ability to multi-task
    • Attention to detail
