  • Responsibilities

    The Continuous Improvement Business Analyst is primarily responsible for identifying and developing areas within Brasfield & Gorrie that can be updated or improved, as well as analyzing and recommending technology, software and functional solutions that meet the employees’ needs and the company’s goals. The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator, problem-solver and critical thinker, as comfortable facilitating cross-team workshops and advising senior management as he or she is at analyzing requirements, creating visual models and documenting business specifications. Offering the perfect blend of soft and analytical skills, this person knows how to drill into details, ask relevant questions, offer clarity and ultimately get buy-in, not just sign-off, for recommended improvements.

    Responsibilities include:

    Process Improvement

    • Coach, teach, and train other employees on fundamentals of continuous improvement practices
    • Provide change management expertise and support when company change or integration activities are impacting employees throughout the business
    • Work with groups throughout Brasfield & Gorrie on process improvement initiatives that span all aspects of our business (project management, preconstruction, support services, information technology, etc.)
    • Develop, track and leverage metrics that align with continuous improvement efforts

    • Pursue a deeper understanding of all construction management and business processes from start to finish and identify areas for where Brasfield and Gorrie can streamline operations, reduce costs, or deploy new technologies
    • Coordinate internal and external team members for processes improvement initiatives in alignment with business goals
    • Ensure smooth and sustained implementation of new processes by coordinating with all necessary parties
    • Facilitate value stream mapping sessions for teams/departments throughout Brasfield & Gorrie
    • Coordinate with Brasfield & Gorrie's career development department for training needs related to process improvement initiatives
    • Pursue industry-wide innovation and improvements needed for our business and others to better serve our clients
    • Evaluate processes on active construction projects to capture new/better means and methods for future projects
    • Regularly share process improvement initiative updates with the Director of Business Process department 

    Knowledge Management

    • Gather best practices in the business and work with content manager to incorporate into knowledge management system

    • Proactively share knowledge, best practices, and lessons learned with others to foster collaborative culture and teamwork
    • Maintain a strong understanding of Brasfield & Gorrie’s knowledge management goals and processes
    • Facilitate work sessions with subject matter experts throughout the business ( in alignment with content manager) to document our processes in True Blue. 
    • Coordinate with content manager during and after process improvement events to document event current state, future state goals, workflows and action plans
    • Assist content manager with creation of draft content from improvement events
    • Assist content manager with documentation feedback action items

    Education - Skills - Knowledge - Qualifications & Experience

    • Bachelor's degree required
    • Architecture/Engineering/Construction industry experience desirable
    • Experience speaking/facilitating in many different types of environments and formats (presentation, discussion, virtual, etc.)
    • Experience with large-scale organizational change efforts
    • Experience managing multiple projects at one time
    • Exceptional communication skills – both written and verbal
    • Excellent active listening skills
    • Ability to clearly articulate messages to a variety of audiences
    • Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships
    • Ability to influence others and move toward a common vision or goal
    • Familiarity with project management approaches, tools and phases of the project lifecycle
    • Exceptional knowledge of technology
