Responsibilities

Brasfield & Gorrie, a recognized leader in the construction industry, has an exciting opportunity available for a Benefits Reconciliation Specialist in the corporate Human Resources group in Birmingham, Alabama. The Benefits Reconciliation Specialist will work closely with the HRIS manager, the Payroll team, and the other members of the HR Department.

  

  • Review and audit insurance carrier invoices to be reconciled with internal systems data
  • Understand calculations of monthly premium statements for all group insurance policies
  • Identify, research and resolve any discrepancies and act as a liaison between the benefits team, payroll team and vendors
  • Maintain accurate billing records and adjustments
  • Review weekly and monthly vendor file feeds and correct errors as needed
  • 401(k) weekly and monthly file integration administration and error resolution
  • Maintain and process medical support orders and subrogation reporting
  • Create, maintain and update benefits reports
  • Assist with benefits audits by external auditors or governmental entities
  • Prepare governmental and regulatory reports, such as the EEO-1 and Vets 100-A reports and Form 5500’s
  • Assist with miscellaneous HRIS reporting needs and general benefits team needs
  • Perform general clerical duties, including filing and scanning

Education - Skills - Knowledge - Qualifications & Experience

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business related field preferred
  • Experience in employee benefits or payroll in an HR department or consulting firm strongly preferred
  • Extensive experience working with Excel, HR systems, payroll and other business applications
  • Detail oriented
  • Highly organized
  • Proven problem-solving skills
  • Strong analytical, mathematical, and computer skills
  • Enjoys resolving data discrepancies
  • Passion for providing service
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
